Mother Nature provided our companion pet-pig with a hard skin and bristles to help fight the challenges of weather conditions and/or predators while in the wild. Now that we have brought these potbellies into our homes, we want them to have soft skin and supple hair. Potbellied pigs have scaly dermatitis because they cannot manufacture LINOLEIC ACID, which allows other domestic animals to produce and maintain quality hair and skin.
